Aam Admi Party unit faces rift over Anita Pratap

The leadership seems unhappy over stand taken during and after elections
Kochi: The Aam Aadmi Party's Kerala unit is faced with a rift between its Ernakulam Lok Sabha candidate Anita Pratap and the leadership. According to AAP sources, the leadership is unhappy over the stand taken by Ms Anita Pratap during and after the elections. It is learnt that the leadership has decided to come out openly against her postures and a public statement will be issued in the coming weeks.
The AAP Ernakulam district committee will convene its first post election meeting at Kalamassery on Saturday. According to AAP leaders, the local committees of Kalamassery, Paravoor and Kochi taluka have sent complaints to the state leadership as well as the national council of AAP against Ms Anita Pratap. Sources said that the complaints will be discussed on Saturday and steps will be initiated in this regard.
It is alleged that Ms Anita Pratap’s campaign style adversely affected the party and that the party workers were forced to seek votes for the party and its ideas rather than for the candidate. Ms Anita Pratap, who is on a tour in Japan, was unavailable for comment. Sources hinted that she changed her seven member campaign team appointed by the AAP leadership and instead appointed members of her choice which irked the leadership.
