Hyderabad: Other than doctors and former bureaucrats, the YSRC’s MP and MLA nominees’ lists have several foreign MBA degree holders and engineering graduates from Bits Pilani, NIT Warangal and other prominent universities.
YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has carefully handpicked candidates with good academic backgrounds to project a good image of his party in the wake of allegations that the YSRC was fielding those involved in criminal cases.
There are four foreign MBAs out of 25 MP nominees in Seemandhra. Interestingly, apart from the candidates, several Indian Institute of Management graduates have joined as interns with the YSRC and are working in the analytics department.
YSRC senior leader M.V. Mysura Reddy said, “Majority of MP candidates of YSRC are highly qualified. They include doctors, engineers, ex-IAS and IPS officers and PhD holders. In spite of candidates with good academic backgrounds, some political parties are criticising our candidates as part of their vicious campaigns.”
Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s cousin, Y.S. Avinash Reddy, who is contesting from Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, is an MBA from the University of Worcester in United Kingdom. Boddu Venkata Ramana Choudary, who has filed his nomination for Rajahmundry Lok Sabha is a
Master of Science from the University of Texas, Dallas and a Master of Management Studies from Bits Pilani.
Dr Chalamlasetty Sunil, the party’s Kakinada LS nominee holds a Bachelors Degree in International Business from the Schiller International University, Strasbourg, France and an MBA in Business Finance from the University of Hull, UK. Peddireddy Midhun Reddy, the YSRC’s MP candidate from Rajampet, is an MBA from Schiller International University UK. Nandyal MP candidate S.P.Y. Reddy is an engineering graduate from NIT, Warangal and Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy, the MP nominee from Narasaraopet is a Masters in civil engineering from Osmania University.
Nellore MP nominee Mekpati Rajmohan Reddy is an engineering graduate from NTI Warangal. Anantapuram MP candidate Anatha Venkatrami Reddy is a law graduate. Mekapati Goutham Reddy, MLA candidate for Udayagiri holds an MS (Textiles) from Manchester in UK.
Mr Avinash Iragavarapu, who graduated from IIM Lucknow in 2011 has given up a corporate job and has been working for YSRC in Andhra Pradesh.
