Hyderabad: YSR Congress has lodged a complaint with Election Commission against Telugu Desam candidate Ch Malla Reddy alleging that the principal of an engineering college run by him is sending text messages to parents and students asking them to vote for Mr Reddy.
Hundreds of students studying in the college have received the SMS. One of the parents brought this to YSRC’s notice. In the complaint to Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal, YSRC said, “The principal is sending SMS requesting parents of the students to vote for him. This amounts to the election violation committed by the candidate and attracts the provisions of Section 107 of IPC and section 123 of RP Act (corrupt practices).”
