YSRC keeps many senior leaders out of contest

Hyderabad: The YSRC dumped Kaikuluru convener Dulam Nageswara Rao after allegations of a woman’s suspicious death in his house. The ticket was given to Mr Ram Prasad. Mr Buragadda Veda Vyas, who recently joined the YSRC, was given the Pedana ticket.

Party senior leaders Konatala Ramakrishna, Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, Mysoora Reddy and Ummareddy Venkateswarlu have been kept out of the fray.

Mr Ramakrishna’s brother Konatala Raghu was given the Anakapalli Assembly ticket. Mr Veerabhadra Rao’s son Ratnakar was given the Visakhapatnam West. Mr Venkateswaralu’s son-in-law was denied a ticket in Tenali.

In Kurnool district, the Yemmigannur ticket was given to Jagan Mohan Reddy instead of his father Chenna Keshava Reddy in view of his health.

Recently joined leaders Lavu Rattaih of Vignan and film star Krishna’s brother Adi Seshagiri Rao didn’t get tickets.

YSRC official spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said, “Y.S. Sharmila opted out of contest this time. Those leaders who worked sincerely for the party from the beginning got tickets to contest. Coordinator of party political affairs committee, Konatala Ramakrishna, also said that he would not contest in the elections.”

YSRC is yet to name a candidate for the Bapatla Lok Sabha seat which is being sought by IAS officials Kishore Rao and Soubagya Rao. Similarly, candidates for the Assembly constituencies of P. Gannavaram, Achanta, Palakollu, Santanutalapadu and Markapuram were also not announced.
