Rape avenged by gangrape in UP village

Lucknow: In a shocking incident, the mother of a rape victim got the wife of the accused gangraped by four men in a bid to avenge the wrong done to her daughter.

The four men, who gangraped the wife of the accused, included the father of the rape victim. According to police reports, the incident took place in Haidergarh area in Barabanki on Sunday. The husband of the woman who was gangraped is already in jail on charges of raping the teenage girl.

“Apparently, the girl’s mother was not satisfied with her daughter’s rapist getting away with just a jail sentence. So she got her husband and three others to rape the accused’s wife so that the couple could experience the same trauma,” a police official said.

The four men abducted the woman, took her to a secluded spot in the village under Asandra police station area and raped her. They later dumped her on the roadside and fled from the scene.

The victim was later found in a critical condition by other villagers who got her admitted to a nearby medical facility. Her condition, the police said, is critical.

No FIR has been registered yet in the case.
