We have a great team: Virat Kohli
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain believes that his side will win the title
Mumbai: Despite the galaxy of stars at their disposal, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have never managed to win the coveted Indian Premier League title. They have twice made it to the final (2009 and 2011) and captain Virat Kohli believes his side will not slip at the final hurdle this time.
“This time around we will hope to go few more steps ahead and actually get that trophy,” said Kohli at a promotional event in Mumbai on Sunday. RCB bought Yuvraj Singh at a whopping Rs.14 crore to boost up their batting line-up that already boasts of T20 kings Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers. Kohli, who has been terrific form with the bat averaging 45 plus across all formats, said the team has the right combination.
“We try every year to win and we have a strong team. We will try to win the trophy because we have got a good combination this time and we will try to utilise it. We have a great team, great bunch of guys ready to perform well. We do well every year, we excite a lot of people in the IPL.” Recently named Man of the Tournament for the World T20 held in Bangladesh, the Delhi batsman said that IPL will not be a burden in an already crammed international schedule but instead a tournament for players to enjoy themselves.
“The more we enjoy cricket, it will be that much better in IPL. In IPL there is a lot of enjoyment of players. “Everybody is relaxed coming from international schedule. There is a good atmosphere and we will try to utilise it,” the 25 year old added.
