KCR to join Third Front?
KARIMNAGAR: TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that his party may join the Third Front at the national level.
Stating that the TRS was 100 per cent secular, Mr Rao said, “The TRS will not join communal parties. All of the TRS MPs will take part in the Third Front. Telangana has the Ganga-Jamuna tehzeeb.”
He was speaking at the Shankaravam, his maiden campaign meeting, at a college ground here on Sunday evening.
“All sections of people must experience growth. We need a secular state. It is a policy of the party. People of the region should live as brothers and lead a happy life,” he said.
Stating that communal parties would not come to power, he said that he has friends in many parties, and that national leaders like Trinamul president Mamata Banerjee, AIADMK president J. Jayalalithaa and BJD’s Navin Patnaik were talking to him.
“All of them are stressing that there is a need for the Third Front,” he said.
“Everybody is seeking non-BJP and non-Congress rule in India. They are national parties for namesake, but they have been reduced to regional parties. No single party can form government at the Centre,” he said.
