Mettupalayam: AIADMK supremo Ms Jayalalithaa charged that the Election Commission was very soft on the DMK while it was very harsh towards the AIADMK.
Saying that the huge turnouts to her election rallies across the state had created jitters in the opposition camp, especially the DMK, she said that the Election Commission’s new rulings such as that the expenditure for the rally would be accounted in the candidate’s election expenditure account if the candidate was seen on the stage or even his/her photographs present around the venue during the rally, were ridiculous.
“People from different places come to the rally at their own expense to hear my speech. I cannot stop them from attending my rally. Why does the Election Commission have double standards, harsh with us, and soft on the DMK?” she asked.
