The man who gave the bag to the lady was arrested

Hyderabad: A day after arresting a woman crew member of Emirates Airline, with 13 kg gold at RGI airport, Shamshabad, Customs officials on Thursday arrested her co passenger with the help of Dubai Airport authorities. Officials suspect that the man, who managed to slip past air intelligence officials on Wednesday, had handed over the bag containing gold to the woman while traveling.
“This passenger was not carrying anything when the woman was intercepted. He cleared baggage checks without waiting for the woman passenger, and went to the city to wait for her. However, when he came to know about her arrest, he booked a ticket back to Dubai for Wednesday evening. We could get the information about him only after the flight took off from the airport,” said a Customs official.
“We passed on the information to Dubai Customs officials, who caught him and sent him back,” said the official. Officials suspect that he is a part a huge smuggling mafia that has been active at Hyderabad and other airports in the country.
