Samsung Galaxy S5 dipped in water and ran over by a car
Mumbai: Galaxy S5, the latest flagship smartphone from Samsung, is said to be waterproof and dustproof. Well, they just won’t put that IP67 certification for no reason. At least not when the rival brands are showing off their goodies in the same segment.
To test this aspect of Samsung’s first waterproof smartphone, TechSmartt did the test so that we can be assured of the claim. Watch the video where the guys from Techsmartt dunk the phone in a swimming pool for an hour and show that it works perfectly fine. The only issue noted is the touchscreen behaving erratic because of the water on it. Once dried (wiped off) the phone was working without any issues. In the second part, they also left the smartphone in the pocket of a pair of jeans and dumped it into a washing machine for a 50-minute cleaning cycle. The phone survived that too.
TechSmartt also did a drop test on the Samsung Galaxy S5, while comparing it with the Samsung Galaxy S4 too. They released the phone from a few feet high and also ran a vehicle over it. Though the handset suffered a few scratches and scuffs, the phone worked perfectly fine.
The videos prove that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is definitely waterproof and rugged enough. You won’t have to worry about it accidentally falling in water or dropping it around the place frequently.
