Election symbol for TRS is a ‘car’ but party chief do not own a car
Hyderabad: The election symbol for TRS is a ‘car’ but interestingly party chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his family do not own a car. In an affidavit submitted to Election Commission while filing his nomination papers on Wednesday, Mr Rao declared that neither he nor his wife or any dependant owns a car.
Mr Rao and his wife together hold assets of Rs 15.15 crore in the form of cash, jewellery and immovable properties.
Mr Rao has cash and deposits worth Rs 6.29 crore, while his wife has Rs 21 lakh. They together have immovable assets worth nearly Rs 6.50 crore. He holds shares worth Rs 55 lakh in Telangana Broadcasting Pvt Ltd which runs “Telangana News” channel and shares worth Rs 4.16 crore in Telangana Publications Pvt Ltd, which runs “Namasthe Telagana”, a Telugu daily.
Mr Rao also owns 37.70 acres agricultural land worth Rs 4.50 crore as per current market value on the city outskirts in Yerravally village of Jagadevpur mandal in Medak district. He purchased the land between September 2010 and October 2013 and the cost of land at the time of purchase was shown as Rs 91.78 lakh. He has his farmhouse built there.
He also owns 2.04 acres non-agricultural land in Mittapally village, Siddipet in Medak district, worth Rs 50 lakhs.
Mr Rao owns houses at Banjara Hills and Thigalaguttapally in Karimnagar worth Rs 3.65 crores. His total assets value was shown as Rs 8.65 crores including cash and deposits. He has loans and liabilities worth Rs 7.87 crores.
