Final CBI chargesheet names P. Sabita Indra Reddy
Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday filed the final chargesheet in the Obulapuram Mining Scam and named former mines minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy as an accused.
Retired IAS official and former mines secretary B. Kripanandam was accused number eight in the supplementary chargesheet.
Ms Reddy and Mr Kripanandam were booked for criminal conspiracy, breach of trust, criminal misconduct, causing wrongful gain and relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
According to the CBI, Ms Reddy was the final authority to make a decision and approved the mining leases owned by prime accused in the case, Mr Gali Janardhan Reddy, in Antaragangamma Konda at Obulapuram in Anantapur district, in violation of the procedures laid down to provide undue benefits to the mining company.
