Elections 2014: Chandrababu Naidu’s effigy burning not correct, said BJP
KAKINADA: Several party leaders expressed resentment over the burning of TD president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s effigy in front of the BJP district office on Monday. They said that such incidents were taking place due to lack of a proper leadership.
However, former BJP district president Y. Malakondaiah clarified that the effigy burnt by party activists was not that of Mr Naidu but of the ‘alliance’. He said that the irate workers could not digest injustice done to the district.
Party district president Suryanarayana Raju said that the party workers must abide by the party’s decision in order to strengthen its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Meanwhile, BJP city president Pydah Bhavan Prasad condemned the burning of Mr Naidu’s effigy stating that the TD chief had agreed to ally with the BJP to make Mr Modi the PM.
Some BJP leaders said that when the party was not in a position to get a single councillor seat in the municipal and the local body elections, how could the TD chief be blamed for allocating meagre seats.
