Elections 2014:Fence-sitters find it tough in Seemandhra

Electoral alliance between TDP and BJP has led to leaders change their constituencies

Hyderabad: All is not rosy for fence-sitters in Seemandhra politics. Following seat sharing between the TD and the BJP, former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has lost all hope of contesting from the Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha seat. He will now shift to Bhimili Assembly constituency in place of his follower and sitting MLA ‘Avanthi’ Srinivas who also crossed the fence from the Congress.

Sources said that Mr Srinivas may be fielded from the Anakapalle Lok Sabha seat. The electoral alliance left Tadepalligudem leaders K. Satyanarayana and sitting MLA Eeli Nani, who switched over to the TD, redfaced as the Assembly seat was allotted to the BJP.

The BJP has also kept D. Purandeswari on tenterhooks even though she has been elected twice before from Visakhapatnam.
