Congress keeps out TJAC men

For some, it’s all in the family

Hyderabad: Former minister G. Vinod, who recently rejoined the Congress from the TRS, has been given the ticket from Chennur in Adilabad district and his brother G. Vivek has been given a Lok Sabha ticket from Pedapalli.

Similarly Komatireddy Venkata Reddy (Nalgonda) has been offered an Assembly seat while his brother Rajagopal Reddy (Bhongir) has got the Lok Sabha ticket.

However, the party high command has accommodated only a few of those who migrated from other parties, though more weightage has been given to those who joined from the TRS. Notable among them is Medak MP s Vijayashanthi who has been allotted the Medak Assembly ticket as had been sought by her.

Dr P. Vinay Kumar, son of former Union minister P. Shiv Shanker, who had left the Praja Rajyam much before the party had merged with the Congress, has been allotted the Musheerabad ticket. Mr Gaddam Aravinda Reddy, Mancherial MLA from TRS, who switched over to the Congress, has been given the same seat.

Suddala Devaiah, TD MLA from Choppadandi who switched over in the last moment, has also got a ticket while former MP A. Indrakaran Reddy, who re-joined the Congress, did not get a ticket either from Nirmal or Adilabad.

Former TRS legislature party leader and MP G. Vijayarama Rao got a ticket for the Station Ghanpur seat in Warangal district. Mr Puvvada Ajay, former YSRC Khammam district in-charge, was offered the Khammam Assembly seat.

Significantly, high command spokesperson Randeep Sujrenwala, who two days back, had announced allotting tickets to Telangana Joint Action Committee leaders who had joined the Congress, However, Mr Addanki Dayakar (Tungaturthy), Gajjela Kantham (Choppadandi), Daruvu Yellanna (Sircilla) and director of Jai Bolo Telangana N. Shanker (Miryalaguda) did not figure in the final list.

Six sitting Congress MLAs, P. Shanker Rao (Secunderabad Cantonment), P. Sabita Indra Reddy (Maheswaram), Balu Naik (Devarakonda), Akula Rajender (Malkajagiri), T. Manemma (Musheerabad) and Rega Kantha Rao (Pinapaka) did not get tickets.

Deccan Chargers director and Hyderabad Cricket Association vice- president E. Venkat Ram Reddy was given the Parkal Assembly ticket from the Warangal District.

The Congress has renominated Gajwel MLA T. Narsa Reddy to take on TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and Karimnagar DCCB chairman K. Ravindera Rao has been pitted against KCR’s son K.T. Rama Rao in Sircilla. A lesser-known leader, Mr T. Srinivas Goud, will take on Mr T. Harish Rao from Siddipet.
