Andhra Governor visited the Secretariat and Assembly to gain first hand experience on dividing the executive and legislative power centres

Hyderabad: Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Sunday visited the Secretariat and Assembly to gain first hand experience on dividing the executive and legislative power centres.

Accompanied by his two advisers, Chief Secretary Dr P.K. Mohanty and several senior officials, Mr Narasimhan visited all the blocks in Secretariat, Assembly premises and Jubilee Hall.

Sources said the Governor told the officials that he would take a final decision on the two proposals of dividing the Secretariat between AP and Telangana governments.

In the first option, A, B, C and D blocks will be given to Telangana while L, J, south H, north H and K blocks will go to AP. The second option is that D, south H and north H will go to Telangana and rest of the Secretariat will go to AP.

With regard to the Assembly, the Governor shot down secretary Sadaram’s proposal to allot the entire premises to Telangana and create a new House for AP in Bal Bhavan.

Mr Narasimhan said that the old assembly building and existing council building would be used by AP and the new Assembly would go to Telangana while a new council would be created for Telangana in Jubilee Hall itself.
