Cloth shop gutted in Sultan Bazaar

Fire broke out in a cloth shop at Sultan Bazaar on Saturday morning

Hyderabad: A fire broke out in a cloth shop at Sultan Bazaar on Saturday morning. Though no casualties were reported, property worth lakhs was destroyed.

The fire, which started at the top floor of Lotus Collections, spread to the first floor and destroyed dress materials kept inside.

Fire officials said that it took more than two hours to extinguish the blaze. Police suspects that an electric short circuit may have sparked the fire.

“We received a call at the fire control room at about 11 am. Two fire tenders, one from Gowliguda and another from Mughalpura were rushed to the spot,” said a fire official.

The fire erupted in the room where dress materials were kept. The entire stock was gutted. Police has booked a case following the owner, Ms Swathi’s complaint.
