Windows XP will be officially dead tomorrow

A final update patch will be deployed tomorrow marking the end of the Windows XP era

The 13-year-old platform will be finally receiving the final update patch as Microsoft has discovered that Internet Explorer (versions 6, 7 and 8) is highly vulnerable to attacks. Microsoft has not let out details of the patch to safeguard its users.

If you are still using Windows XP at home or office, make sure you don’t miss the final update patch from Microsoft. Tomorrow will be the final day for Windows XP to be officially supported. Microsoft will release a final patch for Windows XP whcih will resolve all vulnerabilities with the older operating system till date. So if you are using Windows XP, make sure you have updated the 13-year-old operating system completely in order to receive the final update tomorrow.

Microsoft, however, warns all Windows XP users that post April 8, 2014, the operating system will be highly vulnerable if any attacker or hacker uncovers any vulnerabilities in the old OS.

Microsoft will also be pulling the plug on all download links for Security Essentials for Windows XP. Those who already are running the Security Essentials software can continue to use it and receive updates for another year.

On a final note, users are warned that Windows XP will continue to work after April 8, but the OS will be highly vulnerable to attackers since the vulnerabilities will not be patched by Microsoft thereafter.
