Lucknow: Maneka Gandhi, BJP MP from Pilibhit, advised her son Varun, BJP MP and Sultanpur nominee, to “not comment on things you haven’t seen”. Reacting to her son’s remarks on development in Amethi, Ms Gandhi told reporters in Pilibhit on Thursday that Mr Varun should “use his brain more than his heart”.
She said, “I have myself gone to Amethi and there is no development there. Nobody should comment on something unless you see it with your own eyes. Some people might have told him that good work has been done in Amethi and he said it, but it is not right.” Varun Gandhi had told a group of activists he wanted to bring in a new form of politics, saying, “We need small-scale industries, the kind of self-help groups that Rahulji has set up successfully in Amethi.”
