BJP upset with Telugu Desam Party MP’s action
Adilabad: Bharatiya Janata Party cadre and second-rung leaders are upset with Telugu Desam MP Ramesh Rathod and his family members for filing nominations for the Adilabad Lok Sabha and Khanapur and Asifabad Assembly constituencies before the seat sharing process between BJP and TDP has been finalised.
BJP leaders are doubtful about BJP votes going to TDP candidates and vice versa and the alliance talks between the two parities are not going well.
BJP leaders say that the image of Mr Ramesh Rathod, who is facing strong opposition from the people, may affect the prospects of the BJP and other TDP candidates in the district.
Adilabad Member of Parliament and party politburo member Mr Rathod and his son Rithish Rathod filed nominations for Adilabad MP and Khanapur Assembly seat.
Mr Ramesh Rathod also filed nominations for the Asifabad MLA seat on the first day of filing nominations on Wednesday.
BJP district leaders brought the issue to the notice of the party top leadership and expressed their displeasure over the Telugu Desam leaders’ unilateral decisions.
