Elections 2014:Poll notification issued in Telengana; campaign speeds up

Hyderabad: Intense political activity will commence in Telangana from Wednesday following the issue of notification for elections to 119 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha segments.

Uncertainty still looms large on two major electoral alliances the Congress, Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Telugu Desam and the Bharatiya Janata Party in the region.

The TDP and the BJP are struggling over seat sharing while backdoor diplomacy is in full swing to bring together the Congress and the TRS.

The last date for filing of nominations will be April 9 and withdrawal April 12. Polling will be held on April 30.
