‘Proud of you bapuji’, Shruti Haasan tweets about father Kamal

Shruti called up her dad and told him that she is really proud of him

Overwhelmed with Kamal Haasan receiving the Padma Bhushan award on March 31, his actress-daughter Shruti Haasan tweeted ‘proud of you bapuji’.
An excited Shruti spoke to DC and said, “I’m always proud of his achievements and the day he got the Padma Bhushan was extra special! I wasn’t present when dad received the award as I was tied up with work commitments. I was shooting for Welcome Back in Dubai.”
Shruti called up her dad after the award ceremony and told him that she is really proud of him and “he truly deserved this honour”.
Asked about the use of the term ‘bapuji’, she says, “Yes, I call my dad bapuji. This is how I’ve addressed him since childhood.”
