TJAC backs Telengana Rashtriya Samiti, Bharatiya Janata Party alliance
Hyderabad: TJAC, which played a crucial role in formation of Telangana state, said it will shortly take a decision over whom to support in the general elections. It, however, expressed its support to a TRS-BJP tie-up.
TJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram, who released the committee manifesto on Sunday, asked all parties to not encourage political leaders who “betrayed” the Telangana movement.
“Leaders such as Konda Surekha, Mahendar Reddy, Jagga Reddy, etc. have betrayed the Telangana people by working against the movement. They should not be given tickets by any party,” he said.
The manifesto calls for justice for Telangana people in all sectors and wants only Telangana employees to be allowed to function in the Telangana secretariat. It wants national status for the Pranahitha-Chevella project, a sub-plan for the backward classes along the lines of the one given to SCs and STs, 12-hour power supply to agriculture sector, among others.
