HTC launches HTC Desire 310 for Rs 11,700
HTC launched the Desire 310 yesterday, which is aimed towards smartphone users seeking a branded phone on a low budget. The HTC Desire 310 will be available for a low price of just Rs 11,700.
The dual SIM HTC Desire 310 is powered by a Mediatek MT6582M chipset, which features a quad core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and is coupled with a MALI-400 MP2 chipset. Additional features include 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, expandable to 32GB, a 5MP camera with a VGA secondary camera, FM radio and fueled with a 2000 mAh battery. The display is a regular 4.5-inch TFT capacitive LCD screen with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. Lastly, the user interface is HTC Sense UI V5.1.
Going by the hardware specifications, it seems that HTC does not want to ignore the budget seekers. Similar to the Sony strategy with the Sony Xperia C, HTC has used the cheaper Mediatek chipset in the handset. To cut down the costs further, HTC has also reduced the display size and resolution and the two cameras.
Overall, the handset seems to be a good value for money for those seeking a mainstream smartphone on a budget price. The HTC Desire 310 will definitely give the other brands that cater to the budget segment, especially the Chinese brands, a run for their money.
