Meerut: Congress candidate and actress Nagma slapped a youth after he 'mishandled' her during an election rally in Meerut . The actress was campaigning at the Jali Kothi area, when an unruly mob tried to get close to her.
The crowd at Jali Kothi were unmanageable as they had gathered in huge numbers to get a glimpse of the actress. Congress workers had a tough time controlling the crowd and had to whisk away the actress, before it went out of control. Nagma slapped a youth when he tried to get too close to her, and that created further chaos.
The Sadar police station, which is nearby the Jali Kothi area, hadn't provided adequate police force during the campaign meet. A visibly disturbed Nagma however denied 'slapping' the youth, and said she 'only tried to push away the misbehaving youth'.
Reacting to the incident at Jali Kothi, acting president of the district Congress comittee Manoj Tyagi, alleged that the district administration had shown a very casual attitude towards Nagma's protection. He also demanded that the Election Comission suspend the SSP.

However, the Special Superintendent of Police, Meerut, Omkar Singh said that a gunner was provided to Nagma, and said that it was an incorrect information that she wasn't provided adequate security arrangements.
"Since she is from the film fraternity, we have also advised her that she needs to take extra precautions. People naturally get excited to see an actor", Omkar Singh concluded.
Previously, Nagma was reportedly kissed by a Congress MLA during her rally in Meerut. As Nagma was about to leave Hapur after the election rally, Gajraj Sharma emerged out of the crowd. He held Nagma’s face and kissed on her cheek.
