Shilpa Shetty just refuses to let her 38 years show. The ongoing fashion week in Delhi couldn’t have asked for a better Day One as the actress hit the ramp for a very lucky Tarun Tahiliani. Dressed in a sari-lehenga hybrid, Bollywood’s most famous tummy left shutterbugs reaching for extra batteries.
Also, this is the year Shilpa’s turning ‘producer’ with Dishkiyaaon — starring the Mr Risky Bet, Harman Baweja. But the worries don’t show as she says, “this is the best phase of my life”.
“Yes! As an actor I have taken a back seat because I want to give maximum time to my child. I wait to get back home as soon as the sun sets because I love to hear him say, ‘Mama where were you?’ I prefer doing television as I have to give them just one day in a week,” says the mother of 2-year-old Viaan.
Talking about films today, she says, “Twenty years ago things were very different. We would get our dialogues on the sets and scenes would be explained on the spot. But today everything is sorted out and we get bound scripts. The cues are different. Earlier, we also faced financial problems because we would never get our payments on time.”
Speaking about marriage and career, she says, “Beyond doubt, priorities change after marriage. Also audiences want to see fresh, young faces. Stardom is possible for women till they get married but men get to work the same way as heroes at 40 and even beyond.”
