Eiffel Tower tops list of 20 most 'Instagrammed' tourist attractions

London: Among the many famous tourist attractions in the world, the Eiffel Tower tops the list of the 20 most shared picture on Instagram with Times Square and Big Ben following close behind.

Out of a list of 20 must-see tourist attractions, the 125-year-old Paris tower topped the list with 977,287 images using its names as a hashtag - more than than any other tourist attraction around the globe.

New York’s Times Square bagged the second place, with 773,569 photos followed by London’s Big Ben, with 689,375 images.

The Maldives made it into fourth place, with 622,504 photos uploaded.

London bagged six places on the list, compiled by the capital’s The Tower Hotel, with The London Eye in fifth place (496,213), Harrods in seventh place (395,157), Hyde Park in eleventh (353,485), Southbank in 14th (218,841) and Tower Bridge in 15th (205,555).
