LS polls: BJP Frankenstein Pramod Mutalik returns to haunt party
Hubli: Humiliated by the BJP and unceremoniously shown the door within hours of being drafted into the party, Sri Ram Sene chief, Pramod Mutalik declared on Tuesday that he would take on its state chief, Prahlad Joshi in Dharwad Lok Sabha constituency, “and all doors for further negotiation are closed.”
Asserting that he was contesting the election to raise the “voice of Hindutva” in Parliament, he said, after a lengthy meeting of Sene workers, that the treatment he had suffered in the BJP had only led to a larger sympathy wave in his favour.
“I will not change my mind to contest against Joshi. The state BJP leaders should have discussed the matter with the high command before inducting me. Instead they insulted me by sacking me within a few hours of my joining it. Dharwad will be my stepping stone to make India a Hindu nation. I will file my nomination papers on Wednesday,” Mr Mutalik said.
Holding BJP national general secretary Ananth Kumar responsible for “conspiring to drop him,” Mr Mutalik said not only had he failed to develop Bangalore South constituency, but also not kept his promise to make Datta Peetha another Ayodhya.
