Hyderabad: The YSRC has finalised 95 per cent MLA contestants in Seemandhra. The list includes eight medical doctors and three film personalities. More than half of the candidates are first-timers.
According to sources, Dr M. Jagan Mohan Rao, husband of the party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma, has been finalised for Nandigama, in Krishna district.
Dr Dutta Ramachandar Rao, a close friend of Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, has been nominated from Gannavaram, in Krishna district. TD leader, Nananpaneni Rajakumari’s daughter, Dr Nannapaneni Sudha, will be the YSRC nominee from Vinukonda. According to sources she will be facing a tough fight.
The YSRC is also fielding Dr Gopireddy Srinivas Reddy, from Narasaraopet, in Guntur, and ophthalmologist, Dr Amruthapani, is a probable from Santhanuthalapadu (SC), in Prakasam district. Dr P. Suresh Babu will contest from Nellimerla in Vizainagaram district, and Dr Sathi Surya Narayana Reddy, a general physician, from Anaparthy, in East Godavari district. Dr M. Sunil has been finalised from Puthalapattu, in Chittoor district.
Film star R.K. Roja Selvamni will contest from Nagari and film producer Changala Venkat Rao, from Payakaraopet. The party’s Darsi candidate, Buchepalli Sivaprasad Reddy, has also produced films.
Mr Vajja Babu Rao who had once lost to N.T. Rama Rao, in Tekkali, has been fielded from Palasa in Srikakulam. The families of Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, former minister Dharmana Prasada Rao, MLA Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao, former MP Bhuma Nagi Reddy, former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy have got multiple tickets.
Mr Rajamohan Reddy’s son, Mekapati Gowtham Reddy, has been fielded from Athmakur and his brother Chandrasekhar Reddy for Udyagiri. Mr Ramachandra Reddy has been finalised for Punganur, his son Mithun Reddy, will fight for the Rajampet Lok Sabha seat.
Mr Prasada Rao was given Srikakulam and his brother Krishna Das Narsannapet. Bhuma Nagi Reddy has been named as Nandyal MLA candidate while his wife for Allagadda. Her brother, S.V. Mohan Reddy, is named for Kurnool town.
While Baby Nayana has been named as MP for Vizainagaram, his brother Ravu Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao will be contesting from Bobbili. Ayodhya Rami Reddy has been named for the Narsarapet MP seat and his brother Alla Ramakrishna Reddy is contesting from Manga-lagiri.
