Gayle set to play 100th Test in June against New Zealand at home

The New Zealand series will begin on June 8, 2014

Port of Spain: Swashbuckling batsman Chris Gayle is set to play his 100th Test at his home ground in Jamaica when New Zealand tour the Caribbean in June, the West Indies Cricket Board said.

The WICB has announced a three-match Test series and two Twenty20 Internationals between the two teams. West Indies will then host Bangladesh for two Tests, three ODIs and a one-off T20I.

The New Zealand series will begin with the Jamaica Test (June 8-12), followed by the second match in Trinidad (from June 16) and Guyana (from June 26). The two T20Is will be played in Dominica.

"West Indies opening batsman Chris Gayle has appeared in 99 Tests and his 100th Test appearance is expected to be in the Jamaica Test. The WICB is preparing to celebrate the event and will announce further details in this regard subsequently," the WICB said in a media release after its two-day meeting of its Board of Directors.

Gayle, who made his Test debut in 2000, has scored 6,933 runs from the 99 matches he has played so far at an average of 42.01 with 15 centuries and 34 half centuries.

The Bangladesh series begins with the limited-overs games in Grenada and St Kitts, followed by the Tests in St Vincent and St Lucia. "The 2014 international cricket season in the Caribbean will comprise of a total of five Tests, six ODIs and six Twenty20 Internationals," the WICB said.

June 8-12: First Test -- Jamaica
June 16-20: Second Test -- Trinidad
June 26-30: Third Test -- Guyana
July 5: First T20I -- Dominica
July 6: Second T20I -- Dominica

West Indies vs Bangladesh Series Schedule:
August 20: First ODI -- Grenada
August 22: Second ODI -- Grenada
August 25: Third ODI -- St Kitts (day/night)
August 27: T201 -- St Kitts (night game)
September 5-9: First Test -- St Vincent
September 13-17: Second Test -- St Lucia.
