Chennai: Chief minister J Jayalalithaa is ahead of US President Barack Obama in the ‘sentiment score’ done by Topsy, a US-based ‘social analytics platform’ that collects and monitors twitter feeds. In real terms, her name figures on twitter in fond references quite often.
In the latest Topsy scorecard based on the last 30 days data, the AIADMK supremo has 51 points whereas Obama is at 41.
A look at the number of tweets for Tamil Nadu leaders shows that Jayalalithaa is way ahead of her Dravidian rivals as her name has been tweeted 10801 times whereas DMK chief M Karunanidhi’s was tweeted 5728 times and DMDK leader Vijayakanth’s got 1174.
Topsy’s ‘sentiment score’ is computed based on analysis of the full Twitter Firehose that includes more than 450 million tweets every day. “To fully understand the social conversation around a particular topic, it’s essential to take both quantitative and qualitative measures into account”, says Jamie de Guerre, senior vice-president at Topsy.
