The Miracle winemaker is a hoax
It was a clever ruse designed to get people to read about Wine to Water
Much was written about the Miracle Machine — a magical contraption that could reportedly turn a bit of grape concentrate, water, and yeast into wine in just a couple days. This was one piece of news that excited vinophiles the world over because, really, even in the confines of our city homes, we finally got a chance to make good wine? People do make wine at home but this machine was about one piece of technology, some water and an LED screen that made wine-making a slick, more professional experience than the port wine most people made at home.
Apparently, it was a clever ruse designed to get people to read about Wine to Water, a non-profit organisation working to bring clean drinking water to impoverished areas around the world. So even those who were deeply disappointed at discovering that this was an elaborate publicity stunt, couldn’t help but be touched by the initiative.
