Vijayan rules out making public TPC probe report
KOLLAM: CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday ruled out his party disclosing contents of the in-house probe into the TP Chandrasekharan assassination.
At a meet-the press here, Mr Vijayan said the probe was an internal matter and the expulsion of a party member was on the basis of the party exercise.
In reply to questions, Mr Vijayan lauded Opposition leader V.S. Achuthanandan’s contributions to the party and said nobody should try to underplay the importance of such a nationally important leader.
On comments by KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran praising Mr Atal Behari Vajpayee, Mr Vijayan said Mr Vajpayee was a representative of the RSS, a communal organisation that had massacred thousands of people and Mr Sudheeran had glorified such a person. He also alleged that Mr Sudheeran had “certain hidden agenda” behind it.
The RSP crossover to the UDF was “the biggest betrayal in recent political history.” The RSP decided to quit the LDF after it entered into a secret pact with the UDF, he said. “There was a chance for the RSP to raise the issue at the LDF meeting. Instead, it did not attend the meeting after bilateral talks with the CPM when it was pointed out that the RSP could not expect the seat as it had not contested it for the last three elections,” Mr Vijayan said.
The RSP took the decision to promote the personal interest of Mr N.K. Premachandran as the party national committee had blamed the state committee’s decision, he said.
