Chacko, Rajagopal, Innocent file nominations
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With just two days left, 21 candidates - 13 from LDF, five from UDF and three of BJP filed their nomination papers across the state on Thursday.
The LDF candidates who filed nominations included Dr Bennet Abraham (Thiruvananthapuarm), P K Sreemathy (Kannur), Sathyan Mokeri (Wayanad), M A Baby (Kollam) Christy Fernandez (Ernakulam), P Karunakaran (Kasargod), C B Chandrababu (Alappuzha), M B Rajesh (Palakkad), P K Biju (Alathur), Innocent(Chalakudy), A Vijayraghavan (Kozhikode), Mathew T Thomas (Kottayam) and Chengara Surendran (Mavelikkara).
UDF Candidates - K C Venugopal (Alappuzha), P C Chacko (Chalakudy) Dean Kuriakose (Idukki), K Sudhakaran (Kannur), T Sidiqque (Kasargod).
BJP candidates - O Rajagopal (Thiruvananthapuram), K Surendran (Kasargod), Sabu Varghese (Idukki).
Aam Aadmi party candidate in Ernakulam Lok Sabha constituency Mrs. Anita Pratap could not file nomination on Thursday as she came late to file papers. District collector M.G Rajamanickam who is the returning officer informed her that the nomination could not be accepted. “As per Election Commission’s norms, nominations can be filed only between 11 am and 3 pm. The candidate reached seven minutes late. So, I couldn’t accept her papers,” the collector said.
