World’s first phone that can take 50MP pictures
Though the camera is just a 13MP, it combines four shots together to make a 50MP shot
OPPO has been in the news recently with the release of the world’s first smartphone, which features a 50MP camera. The OPPO Find 7, actually has a 13 MP sensor, but the camera along with an intelligent software, creates a 50 MP shot, reveals Engadget.
The manufacturer confirms the shots are 50MP and Engadget did a test to find out if the pictures are really worth. The 13MP Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor takes 10 simultaneous shots very quickly and then merges the best four pictures to make a single 50MP photo. Each 8160 x 6120 resolution shot is almost 10 MP large.
Engadget also stated that the images shot by the OPPO Find 7 puts the Sony Xperia Z1’s 20MP camera to shame. Below are two samples of the camera’s shots.
