Pawan Kalyan for defeat of YSR Congress, Telengana Rashtriya Samiti

Pawan Kalyan recently voiced his views against YSRC leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy

Hyderabad: Though Pawan Kalyan has claimed that his Jana Sena has the long-term goal of bringing about a grass-root revolution, his immediate goal is to defeat the YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh and the TRS in Telangana. The actor, who has already made it clear that he is not interested in electoral politics, is apparently ready to work for a political combination that could beat the two formidable forces in the respective regions.

Meanwhile sources close to the Jana Sena founder told DC that Pawan Kalyan has even mooted alliances with like-minded parties with the Telugu Desam Party as the nucleus, for which he has offered to campaign extensively. Pawan Kalyan is likely to meet BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Wednesday in New Delhi and discuss his idea of all the forces joining together. He was of the view that the TD-BJP combine should take on the TRS as well as the Congress in Telangana.

Sources said that Pawan Kalyan had interacted with former CBI joint director V.V. Lakshminarayana a while back and it was during these discussions that the former’s views against YSRC leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy took shape. He had also made his contempt towards TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao abundantly clear during the launch of Jana Sena.

Interestingly, film producer and industrialist P. Vara Prasad who is playing crucial role in Jana Sena, got a breather in the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s illegal assets case thanks to the CBI clearing his name in the case stating that “there were no undue favours” extended to him by the YSR regime.

The corporate coterie of TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu is also in touch with the actor, said sources. Pawan Kalyan had also interacted with a former election commissioner, a retired Supreme Court judge and noted academician Mr Kancha Ilaiah before launching the Jana Sena.

Meanwhile, ending the brief silence after launching Jana Sena, Pawan Kalyan’s media managers said that he was committed to creating a new generation of political leaders and building a political force “against all odds”. It also said that the Jana Sena would celebrate only Independence Day, Republic Day and the Formation Day of the two Telugu states. “Birthdays, cultural and religious festivals will not be celebrated because they have been exploited for political gains,” it said.
