DMK Chief M. Karunanidhi to start campaign from Apr 5
Chennai:DMK president M. Karunanidhi will launch his campaign for the April 24 Lok Sabha polls from April 5.
Nintytwo-year-old Karunanidhi who choose to restrict his poll campaign owing to health reasons will kick off the campaign from Coimbatore and wind it up at Chennai on April 21. Starting from Kongu region, the nonaganarian DMK chief will head to Vanniyar strongholds before heading to delta districts.
Karunanidhi will address a rally at Madurai, his estranged son Alagiri’s supposed bastion, on the evening of April 13. He has reserved a day each for all three constiuencies in Chennai, where he would wind up his campaign.
Curiously, all except Karunanidhi’s MP daughter Kanimozhi have hit the campaign trail. Both Karunanidhi and Stalin have also been putting social networking sites to good use this poll season.
Stalin in particular is most active in Twitter with a dedicated party youth wing team posting his speeches and statements on a real time basis.
