RBI fixes the reference rate of the rupee at 61.09 against the US dollar

Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India todayfixed the reference rate of the rupee against the US dollar at 61.0970 and of the euro at 85.0792, as against 60.9453 and 84.8917 yesterday. In a press release issued by RBI, the exchange rates for the pound and yen against the rupee were quoted at 101.4149 and 60.18 per 100 yen, based on reference rates for the dollar and cross-currency quotes at noon.
The reference rate is based on the noon rates of select banks here and the SDR-Rupee rate would be based on this rate, the release added.
