iPad 2 officially discontinued, replaced by iPad 4
Non-retina display iPad and iPhones will soon be obsolete
iPad was considered an entry-level tablet by Apple soon after the launch of the iPad air. Now the company has officially discontinued the iPad 2 and replaced the same with the iPad 4th generation model which features the retina display and a lightning connector. The price for the 16 GB model with Wi-Fi is $399, while the Wi-Fi + 3G 16 GB model is priced around $529. This is a bit strange as the iPad mini with Retina display costs exactly the same. So you are left in confusion if you are to opt for a smaller and lighter iPad or a larger slab.
