Visakhapatnam: Former chief minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, who recently launched the Jai Samaikyandhra Party (JSP), clarified that his party will not merge with the Congress in future.
Replying to a query from participants at an interactive session held with the representative of various Samaikyandhra JACs here on Monday, Kiran said that he would not have floated a party if he had any plan to merge it with the Congress. TD chief Naidu had said that Kiran’s party is a proxy of the Congress, and will merge with it like Chiranjeevi’s PRP.
Kiran said that while both YSRC and TD chiefs are fighting it out for the CM’s post, he left it only to fight for the honour of Telugus. He added that JSP will act as a platform for all those who fought for united AP. Kiran was hopeful that the SC, which is hearing a case on the state bifurcation, would stall the process. “The new Parliament has to begin the bifurcation process. There are many discrepancies in the AP Reorganisation Bill. If JSP sends maximum MPs to the new parliament, they can stall the process there,” he said.
He appealed the people of Seemandhra to vote JSP in the coming elections to stop bifurcation of the state.
