Amitabh and Shahrukh give Holi celebrations a miss
Megastars Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan did not join in the festive celebrations due to personal reasons
Megastars Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan did not join in the festive celebrations due to personal reasons. SRK celebrate Holi this year as he was mourning the death of his close pal and the former CEO of his production company 'Red Chillies Entertainment', Bobbly Chawla. The deceased was in a coma since April 2014, after suffering a massive stroke in 2010 and passed away on the 9th of March this year.
The superstar spent his day shooting for Farah Khan's upcoming 'Happy New Year', and spent the rest of the day at home with his family.
Amitabh Bachchan extended his Holi greetings on Twitter, saying, "The festival of Holi... Wishing all colourful, happy and joyful years to come... May your lives be ever filled with joy."
The 71-year-old actor, however, said that he will abstain from any celebration because of some 'ill moments' in the past year and would spend time with his daughter, Shweta instead."Holi is on the 17th... Shweta's birthday and we shall be with her. So, I am not going to celebrate... there have been certain ill moments in the year and they still continue...when there is mourning in the family, festivals are put away, traditionally," Bachchan posted on his blog.
He also posted, "We do not celebrate it again … there have been discomforting news for the year, the passing away of relations distant, of long months of struggle against illness .. it would be disrespectful to be immersed in the colours of abandon and joy when some among us mourn .."
