No merger with Congress: Kiran Kumar Reddy
Visakhapatnam: Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who has recently launched Jai Samaikyandhra Party (JSP), clarified that his party will not merge with Congress in future.
Talking to representatives of JSP's Joint Action Councils in Visakhapatnam on Monday, Reddy said “Why would I launch a party if I had to merge with Congress? I will never do it. JSP is for those who want to cast vote with self respect”.
Ever since Reddy has launched the JSP, he is being criticised by opposition parties, especially Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu, who termed the party as a proxy of Congress and stated that JSP would merge with the grand old party like Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam did after the general polls.
However, Reddy said that while both YSR Congress and Telugu Desam chiefs are fighting for the post of chief minister, he left the same post to fight for the self-respect of the Telugu people.
Former Andhra CM is on a tour of north Andhra. He addressed a gathering of students on Sunday and a public meeting at Sabbavaram later in the evening.
