KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran rebuts Chacko’s remark
Alappuzha: KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran has disapproved of the opinion of Mr P.C. Chacko, AICC spokesperson and UDF’s Chalakudy candidate, that the Congress chances in the Lok Sabha elections were bleak. On the contrary, the Congress was gaining great momentum in the state, Mr Sudheeran said.
Speaking at ‘Janavidhi 2014’ organised by the Alappuzha Press Club, he said, “Nobody should utter such comments at this juncture which could confuse the people. The KPCC is striving hard to get the maxim number of MPs from Kerala to form the next government under the Congress at the centre. The election results will be an outcome of the performance of both the central and state governments,” he said.
Responding to the ticket distribution issues, he said that Mr P. T.Thomas was denied ticket not because of the intervention of religious leaders. “Nobody will always get the ticket,” he said and added that the issues raised against UDF candidate M.I. Shanavas in Wayanad were resolved amicably.
Dismissing the CPM politburo investigation report on the T.P. Chanadrasekaran murder, he asked who had investigated the murder and from whom they had gathered statements. “The PB commission should have taken the statement of at least K.K. Rema’s father,” he said.
