Arun Jaitley snipes at Sushma Swaraj over Sriramulu’s induction in BJP
New Delhi: There seems to be no end to internal war in the BJP. Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley on Saturday appeared to be taking a dig at his counterpart in the Lok Sabha and party colleague Sushma Swaraj, for opposing the re-entry of Karnataka leader B. Sriramulu in the saffron fold.
Mr Jaitley wrote on his blog that the “relatively marginal issues” of who is in and who is out are diverting attention from the core issues of governance. He said that as the “last lap of the campaign has begun,” all that BJP should concentrate on is “consolidating its gains.”
Ms Swaraj in her latest tweet opposed the party’s decision to re-induct Mr Sriramulu, a close aide of the controversial Reddy brothers of Bellary. Mr Sriramulu is being fielded by the BJP from Bellary constituency in Karnataka.
“Relatively marginal issues such as declaration of candidates, particularly who is in and who is out, cannot be allowed to dominate the political agenda in the BJP. These issues divert attention from the core issues of governance,” Mr Jaitley wrote in his blog.
