Facebook will soon start showing video ads

The video will automatically play without sound, but will go large screen when clicked

We are already frustrated with websites putting up irritating advertisements, but fortunately, most of them can be ignored. Some cause an eyesore when they show up as popups on the screen without your consent. The most frustrating one are the ads that compulsorily play while watching YouTube videos. This not only eats up into your bandwidth, but also your precious time.

Facebook, the social media giant, has been now tied up with a few US advertiser groups and will show almost 15-second commercials on your Facebook page. These ads would be in their own space, would play without consent and without audio. However, when you click on an ad, they will turn to full-screen ads with sound enabled.

According to reports on ComputerWorld, Facebook is also working with Ace Matrix, a TV advertising analytics company, to assess each ad before they show up on the Facebook site. The social media giant also added that they were taking this step to maximize the investor’s returns and maintain high-quality ads.

Facebook has around 1.2 billion active users online and will give the ad marketers a method to reach out to a larger audience. The ads will be dependent and categorized according to age, gender and region. The ads will run both on desktops and mobile devices. So get ready to shell out a little more on your Internet bills. Facebook has not mentioned any pricing on the advertisements to the ad company as yet.
