LS Polls: BJP’s 2nd list out, Yeddyurappa to contest from Shimoga

MP Chandan Mitra to fight from Hooghly, singer Babul Supriyo from Asansol

Former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, whose Karnataka Janshakti Party recently merged with the BJP, will contest the Lok Sabha polls from Shimoga.

The BJP on Saturday declared names of 52 candidates – its second list -- after the meeting of its central election committee.

Party leader Ananth Kumar said: “We have also finalised 20 candidates out of the total 28 from Karnataka.”

The BJP leader also announced that Rajya Sabha MP Chandan Mitra would contest from Hooghly. Kumar, a sitting MP, will contest from Bangalore South.

The list features Nimu Bhowmik from Raiganj and singer Babul Supriyo from Asansol.

The BJP’s list for the Assembly elections to be held in Odisha – simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls – has also been finalised.
