Twitter bans porn videos on Vine

Twitter’s new policy prohibits sexually provocative nudity and sexual arousal videos

Twitter has announced that sexually explicit images or videos will no more be allowed on its video-sharing app, Vine.

The smartphone app, which lets anyone create and share six-second clips, became a popular venue for male genitalia and pornographic movies tapped off TVs and laptops soon after its release in January 2013.

It initially responded to the issue by trying to make it more difficult to locate sexually explicit videos and even blocked the keywords related to porn. It also flashed a warning message on Vine and notified users to view videos, only if they are above 18 years of age.

Twitter also specified that it's not banning all nudity from the service. Depictions of nudity or partial nudity posted for documentary, educational, or artistic purposes will still be allowed.
