Congress men attack Kiran, letters written to Governor for action

Former ministers wrote letters to the Governor requesting an inquiry into the decisions made by Ex AP CM

Hyderabad: Congress leaders intensified their attack on former Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy after the latter announced he will launch a new political party. Former ministers Mr Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad and Mr P. Sankar Rao separately wrote letters to the Governor Mr E.S.L. Narasimhan on Thursday requesting an inquiry into the decisions made by Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy, which they alleged financially benefited the former Chief Minister.

Mr Prasad told the media on Thursday that Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy has illegally earned Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 crore in the last six months that he was CM. He alleged that bribes were collected for transfers of IAS and IPS officers. Mr Prasad demanded that Mr Reddy should prove that these allegations are false.

He alleged that Mr Reddy is enacting a drama by announcing the formation of a new party and it has been done to save his skin and deflect investigations into his activities. In his letter to the Governor Mr Prasad said: “During past six months, the state administration has been derailed.

There is widespread criticism that the former CM disposed of large number of files at the last minute for extraneous consideration.” When he was questioned about the timing of his letter to the Governor, Mr Prasad said that the allegations against Mr Reddy had surfaced only recently. When he was minister, no such allegations had been made against the then CM.
He requested the Governor to order a dispassionate review in respect of the major decisions taken by Mr Reddy.
