Calling all citizens to vote, last electoral camp on Sunday

New voters need to fill up ‘Form 6’; existing ones can check their names, information are correct

New Delhi: Here is the last opportunity for those willing to vote these general elections.

The Election Commission (EC) has asked chief electoral officers in all states and Union Territories to hold a special camp on March 9 at all polling booths which will help both existing voters and aspiring ones.

While existing voters can check if their names have been included and are correct. New voters can enroll themselves by filing up 'Form 6' on the spot at the camps.

"The Commission has directed that a special camp be organised in all polling stations on March 9... in this camp, the electoral roll for that polling station shall be displayed on its wall and shall also be read out in public so that people can check their name is on the roll.

"If the name of any person eligible to be enrolled is left out for some reason or has been wrongly deleted, such people should immediately fill up Form 6 and hand it to the booth-level officer (BLO), present in the camp.

The Lok Sabha polls will be held between April 7 and May 12 in nine phases, the highest so far in India’s elections.

Counting of votes in all 543 constituencies will be on May 16.
