Adam Lambert to reunite with Queen for summer tour
Los Angeles:Singer-songwriter Adam Lambert is set to reunite with British band Queen for a North American tour this year.
Lambert, 32, who has played with Queen at several events in the recent years, will once again fill in for frontman Freddie Mercury, who passed away in 2001, reported Ace Showbiz.
"People are going to ask whether it's Queen without Freddie. I don't know. We just want to go out there one more time. Adam isn't an imitator. We're going into new territory," the band's lead vocalist Brian May said.
"I'm completely in awe of the Queen phenomenon. The thought of sharing the stage for a full set in North America is so beautifully surreal," Lambert said.
"I'm honoured to be able to pay my respects to Freddie's memory; he's a personal hero of mine, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band," he added.
The band will start their 18-date tour on June 19 at Chicago's United Center. After which, they would be performing at Saskatoon, Edmonton, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Toronto, New York and other cities.
